Overview
Clive Gardening Services proudly completed its largest lawn renovation project of 2024 at a stunning local manor house estate. This prestigious project took place on a property spanning 32 acres, focusing on the formal front lawns located in the driveway turning circle area, which consisted of nine individual lawn areas.

Project Details
Client Requirements:
To meet the client’s high standards, the following comprehensive lawn renovation processes were undertaken:
- Lawn Treatment: To be applied 2 weeks before the mechanical processes took place.
- Pre-Cut: Mow the lawn.
- Scarification: To remove thatch and moss, promoting healthy lawn growth.

- Aeration: To relieve soil compaction and improve air exchange and allow water penetration and nutrients to get to the roots of the turf.

- Post cut: Repeat number 2.
- Levelling: To ensure an even and aesthetically pleasing lawn surface.
The below images show two of the larger lawns being levelled, in total for levelling and topdressing CGS used 34 tons of premium soil, sand, and the best quality fine top dressing.
- Overseeding: To match the current lawn with a matching seed variety.
- Top Dressing: To provide a nutrient-rich layer for optimal grass growth.
Implementation
Clive’s Gardening Services team meticulously executed each step of the renovation to transform the formal lawns into lush, vibrant green spaces. The client also invested in new hosing and sprinkler systems, which were critical to maintaining the lawns post-renovation.
Maintenance and Results
Upon completion, the client received a detailed blog thread outlining best practices for maintaining the newly seeded lawn. By following a consistent watering program, the client has achieved outstanding results.

Expert Tips for Maintaining Your Lawn After Aeration, Over seeding, and Top Dressing
The client also requested to be booked in for an ongoing lawn treatment program for the nine front lawns and additional areas as CGS renovate them.
Client Feedback
The client was extremely pleased with the outcome of the renovation, noting significant improvement in the lawn’s appearance and health. Impressed by our work, they have commissioned Clive Gardening Services for Phase 2 & 3 of the project, which will focus on renovating the lawns at the side of the property, and down each side of the long driveway.
The below image and the banner image were taken on a visit back to the property 6 weeks after renovation when the lawns were getting their first cut.
